Weekend with Serkong Rinpoche

“The Eight Verses for Training the Mind”

Saturday, September 5 – 10:00 am–6:00 pm
Sunday, September 6 – 10:00 am–1:00 pm

The Eight Verses for Training the Mind by Geshe Langri Tangpa are among the most renowned texts of the Mahayana tradition. In these concise yet profound verses, we are shown a path for training the mind and transforming our everyday experiences into opportunities for developing compassion and wisdom.

In this seminar, Serkong Rinpoche will explain the text and present the essential points of mind training (Lojong). The teachings will include methods for transforming our attitude towards others, using difficulties as opportunities for inner growth, and cultivating the mind of awakening (Bodhicitta).

For those new to Buddhism, it provides a clear and accessible introduction to fundamental methods of mind training. For experienced practitioners, this text offers an opportunity to deepen their understanding of essential Mahayana teachings and further develop their practice.

  • Participation Information

Whenever possible, we encourage participants to attend in person. In the Buddhist tradition, the opportunity to meet a qualified teacher directly, receive teachings together with other practitioners, and connect with the teacher personally is considered a particularly precious and meaningful opportunity.

Online participation will also be available. We will make every effort to provide a good-quality transmission of both video and audio. However, due to limited internet bandwidth at the venue, occasional fluctuations in the quality of the transmission may occur. We therefore recommend using headphones with your home device for the best possible listening experience.
